Today’s Bible Reading: Genesis 29 – 30
“Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”” Genesis 30:1-2 (NKJV)
Bible Reading for January 11: Genesis 31 – 32
In the time of Rachel, and Jacob, having children was the blessing of the Lord on them. To Rachel not having a child was a curse. She would rather be dead than not bear a child.
For the Christian today; our desire should be to be a fruitful witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and “bear children” in the faith to His glory.
My prayer, and yours ought to be to our Lord; “Give me children, lest I die”.
Forgive me Lord for my lack of passion for the lost to be saved.
