And Jesus came and touched them, and said, ‘Arise, and be not afraid.’ And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.” Matthew 17:7-8 (KJV)

People almost live and die for the most exciting experiences they can think of.  Climb the highest mountain, walk across a continent, drive the fastest car, swim across an ocean, or maybe just go around the world.  Experiences like that are exciting; of that I would only have to guess.

Jesus’ disciples – Peter, James and John had just experienced one of the most exciting events of their lives; the “Transfiguration of Jesus on the Mountain”, and they had seen Moses the Lawgiver, and Elijah the prophet speaking with Jesus, and they are afraid.

When the experience is over they still have Jesus.  They see Jesus, and I am certain that they see Him in a new light, and understanding.  The experience is wonderful, but Jesus is better than the experience.
