Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, ‘That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23-24 (KJV)
I am told that there is; in the wall of Jerusalem; or there was at one time anyway; a hole that is called the “Needle’s eye”, and that the only way to get a camel through that eye is to unload any thing on the camel, get it on its knees, and gradually work its way through.
That hole; at least for me; does not fit the “With God all things are possible”, because that would be the work of the camel man rather than God.
Now, I can see the need for the rich man to unload his riches, seeing them as useless, and worthless as far as his soul is concerned. To get into the kingdom of heaven – the kingdom of God is a God thing alone.
To get into the kingdom of God is provided by God through the cross of His Son Jesus. Our sin debt has been paid by Him, and nothing in this world is worth losing our eternal soul.
Is there something keeping you from Jesus? He can thread the needle’s eye, and He can get the camel through it. Only He can.
“With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
