Valentines Day is a day where billions of dollars are spent on someone’s loved one. What is this day actually? It is in the name of a man who lived in the third century A.D. and died in 269/270 A.D. at the hands of a ruthless emperor of Rome named Claudius. He had issued an edict forbidding the marriages of young people, apparently because he wanted young men as soldiers, and an unmarried soldier was a better soldier.
Valentine refused to follow this edict, performed Biblical marriages, one man, one woman, and dedicated them to the Lord.
As a result of his obedience to God, rather than the emperor, he was beheaded.
The greatest love one can have is their love for God; the greatest love one can receive is from God. The greatest love one can give is their life for another.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 (KJB) Jesus Christ
