It seems there needs to be some clarity on the issue of “Tithing”. Should we tithe? That is; are we required by Scriptures to tithe? I do not see it as a matter of “Have to”, but a matter of “Get to”.
What better way of recognizing God’s ownership of all things than giving back to Him the first 10 percent of our income. There is no better way than that. It should be a priviledge and an honor as a means of glorifying our Lord, seeing that His work of the ministry is conducted, and needs of our local congregation met for His glory.
At CLBC we have missed two Sundays in a row. We missed Sunday the 14th of January and the 21st of January due to bad weather, mostly. If you had an income, that tithe still should have been given for the glory of the Lord as we gathered to worship this past Sunday the 28th. The tithe does not stop because we do not have services. Your income determines your tithe, not the worship service or lack thereof.
The Scripture says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven,a nd pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10.
When your heart is right with the Lord, there will not be any problem with a tithe or an offering to the Lord. Expect His blessings.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
