Journey Toward The Cross

Matthew 20:17-19

I.  JESUS HAD A DESTINATION (v. 17a).

II.  JESUS HAD DISCIPLES TO TEACH (v. 17b).

III.  JESUS KNEW HE WOULD BE BETRAYED BY DENIERS (v. 18).

IV.  JESUS KNEW HE WOULD BE CRUCIFIED TO DEATH (v. 19a).

V.  JESUS KNEW THERE WOULD BE A DAWNING (v. 19b).

Application –

i.  Know your destination to be with Jesus Christ.
ii.  Teach and tell everyone,  and anyone who will listen – “Make disciples.”
iii.  Know that there will be deniers, haters, despisers, and much opposition to the message of Jesus Christ.
iv.  Rest assured by faith, that the blood of Jesus Christ (His death) cleanses us from all sin.
v.  Just as there was a dawning for the resurrection of the body of Jesus; so will there be a dawning of newness for every soul following Jesus.
