What does it mean to love Jesus; the Son of God? How does one show love for Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God? Do you desire fellowship with God?
Jesus is asked by Judas, who is not Iscariot the betrayer, but a different Judas; “Lord, how is it that you will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” (John 14:22). Questions, questions, and more questions. They do have answers. Hear what Jesus says;
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. He that loveth Me not keepeth not My sayings: and the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father’s which sent Me.” John 14:23-24 (KJV)
To the first question above: We love Him because we desire to be in His presence;
To the second: We show our love by believing, and keeping His words, because they are the Father’s words;
To the third: When we love Him, keeping His words, He will manifest, ie. reveal Himself to us, and give us sweet fellowship with Him (John 14:21).
It is also quite clear from Jesus’s words that if you do not love Him you will not keep His words, neither does this individual love God.
Loving Jesus means He lives in you, and you in Him; you are keeping [practicing, guarding them, hiding them in your heart (Psalm 119:11), serving Him in love] His words.
