Let me first of all on this 11th day of September remind all to be in prayer for the people of Texas, Louisiana, and surrounding cities of Texas.  Also pray for the people of the whole State of Florida.  These States  have been hit hard by natural disasters.

Our verses for today are…

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NKJV)

The word of God is the word of God, not the words of men; and God’s Word will never fail to be true and will never fail to come to pass.

The heart is the inner being of us all.  The heart of mankind is wicked.  that is what God says.  When we hear someone say, “Man is basically good”  that person is right or wrong or God is right or wrong.  I will stand upon the word of the Living God who sent His only Son to die for me, who was buried, and rose again from the grave and is living today.  He has backed up His word as Truth; and it is truth without any mixture of error.  So in that comment, “Man is basically good” the person who says it is in error, grave error and out of agreement with God.

Are there other parts of Scripture which agree with Jeremiah’s and God’s words above?  Definitely.

The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. Psalm 14:2-3

…For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” Romans 3:23

And there are others.

Let no one say that God is the unjust one.  Let no one think that God does not care for the crown of His creation.  Sin keeps us from God; and He in His mercy, love and grace paid the debt that was mine and yours.  Let Him change your “Desperately Wicked Heart” through the cross of Jesus Christ the Son of God, God the Son.
