“Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, “And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.” Jeremiah 23:23-24 (NKJV)
When these verses are read, we might ask the question; Why is God asking these questions? Have you heard anyone just recently ask, “Where is God…?” and it might be related to recent hurricane tragedies and storms of all makes. Where was God when Harvey struck Houston, Texas, surrounding communities, and Louisiana? Where was God when Irma came through the islands of the Caribbean and demolished homes, businesses and lives; then stretched out and hit the whole State of USA Florida?
It should not be too hard to answer the question. I will answer it with a question… Where was God when His Son Jesus died for our sin on the cross?
He was right there at Calvary.
God is near. God is faraway from our sin. When we sin we cannot hide from Him. There are no secret places we can run to to get away from God. The sweet psalmist of Israel; David said,,,
“If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.” Psalm 139:8
God knows you, your heart, and your mind. He also knows where you are. So, you BETTER THINK ABOUT IT. Then surrender.
