And He said, I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. Exodus 33:19 (KJV)
While God goes about doing nothing but what is holy, righteous, just, and good there are some who have a problem with the “Goodness” of God. Is God good? To answer that question very quickly and to the point; the answer is a definite YES!
Do you know where you would be if God was not good? Do you know what would happen to this world if God were not good? There would be no order in the Universe. Planets and comets would regularly be crashing into one another. You would; if we even existed; be in chaos, with no benefits to life or living. God keeps all things together.
He wants the world to know His name. He proclaims His name; so should you and I. One best way GOD has proclaimed His name is through His Son Jesus. He sent Him into the world to become sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). God is good. It is His goodness that He would even give us His name to know Him, to love Him, to worship and to laud Him.
God has called people everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). Repentance leads to faith in the Righteous Son of God.
God is also gracious and merciful or compassionate. He is GOD so He has all authority to be gracious to whom He will be gracious; and to be merciful to whom He will be merciful. He is GOD. Let us trust and believe Him.
