As the LORD Commands

“Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.” Exodus 40:16 (KJV)

In the reading of Exodus 39 – 40 this morning I noticed the phrase “…As the LORD commanded Moses” 14 times. It is important for the Christian to realize, and act on what God has said.  It is quite apparent that Moses did.

These chapters show how tedious, complex, and difficult it is to get to GOD on our own.  Do we neglect holy living?  Far too many times I know that I do.  Is there forgiveness for our sin after we have sinned as a believer and follower of Jesus?  Yes!  Read 1 John 1 and especially pay close attention to verse 9.  There is forgiveness for the child of God who has sinned, confesses that sin and repents.

Can I say that I have done all that the LORD has commanded me?  No!  Do I quit desiring to live for Him, honoring, and lifting up the name of Jesus God’s holy, righteous and resurrected Son?  You better believe it.  I daily yearn, long, desire to glorify Him with my words, my life, and my actions.  I pray that for all who love the Lord Jesus Christ.

One thing we need to realize as we finish the reading of Exodus is that GOD is the Deliverer of His people.  He is the Deliverer for all who will call on the name of His Son Jesus who went willingly to the cross and bled and died for our sins, was buried carrying our sin, shame, guilt, condemnation and death away and leaving in the depths of the earth; then, He bodily arose to live eternally.  Through Him we live eternally with Him.

Have peace in knowing that there is no furnishings, no earthly tent or building, no holy garments, no rituals that can save or deliver you from your sins. Only Jesus the Christ who is the Son of God, God the Son.
