Reading today from 1 Kings 9 – 10…
“Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made He thee king, to do judgment and justice.” 1 Kings 10:9 (KJB)
Do we have a testimony of God? Do you? Do I? All people have a testimony of God. With some their testimony does not recognize God; yet, it is still a testimony of God, or their view of Him.
News of the wisdom of Solomon had traveled the world wide. The Queen of Sheba, no name given, visits Israel and Jerusalem, visiting the King of Israel to see if what she has heard is true. She comes to the conclusion that she has not heard of all the things, that are so about Solomon.
Jesus even mentions her visit to Solomon in Matthew’s gospel account (Matthew 12:42). She had heard of GOD [YHWH] Jehovah. She even uses His personal name in the blessing above.
Though Solomon had amassed to himself great wealth, horses, chariots, gold, silver, precious gems, and wives; which were not according to the will of the LORD; He was still giving the praise to the LORD, and the queen recognized that.
There are no perfect men or women. There are no perfect kings or queens; but One. Solomon was a sinner. The queen was a sinner. All in great need of God and His grace. The queen, though there is some question as to whether she converted to belief in Jehovah, did give testimony of the God of Israel.
That One mentioned above is Jesus. He is the God-Man. Fully God, and fully Man. He came into this world as a baby in a manger for one purpose to glorify His Father through going to the cross to die for the sins of all the world. He will only save those who believe in Him, trusting Him fully for their very lives.
My testimony is that He died for my sins, was buried, and He rose again. He changes lives who trust in Him. What is your testimony?
