Psalms 84 and 85 are songs written for the sons of Korah.  Now unless you are familiar with their story the Psalms for them will not mean too much to you.  You will find their story in Numbers 16.  Let me suggest that you go and read that, then the Psalms for the sons of Korah will touch your heart a whole lot more.

As I was reading these God touched me and spoke to me: He opened my eyes to the Psalms.  I have been struggling with them this time for some reason.  I have loved and enjoyed the Psalms for many years, but somehow this time was different for me, until today, and these Psalms for the sons of Korah.

There were three men and their families (Korah, Dathan, and Abiram) that revolted against God, Moses, and Aaron; and as a result of their rebellion the LORD God judged them severely.  It appears to me that some  of the older sons of Korah stood with God, Moses, and Aaron.  The following is the whole (Including the title) of the Psalm 85.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. LORD, Thou hast been favourable unto Thy land: Thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

Thou hast taken away all Thy wrath: Thou hast turned from the fierceness of Thine anger. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause Thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt Thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt Thou draw out Thine anger to all generations? Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee?

Shew us Thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us Thy salvation.

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before Him; and shall set us in the way of His steps.”  Psalm 85:1-13  (KJB)

Will God Revive Us Again?  It is totally in His hands, and it will happen when He is ready.  Maybe when we get to the place where we love Jesus, God’s holy, righteous, Son, and we trust Him in daily life with every need; He died for us, was buried, and rose again.  We must love Him more than our plans, promotions, and programs.
