From Our Daily Bible Reading beginning July 16 through July 22

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.`  Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.   The LORD hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.   By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.   When a man’s ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with Him.

Proverbs 16:1-7

The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Proverbs 21:1-5

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:  Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.

Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;  For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Proverbs 24:17 – 20

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

Proverbs 29:1-4

For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.   For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?  For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.   For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?   For God giveth to a man that is good in His sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner He giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that He may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 2:21-26

Wednesday July 22, 2026

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;   A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;   A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;   A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;   A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;   A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?   I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.   He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.   I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.   And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.   I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before Him.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-14
