“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” [Jesus] Matthew 7:6 (KJV)
The dogs of Jesus’ day were not family pets. They roamed the streets of towns and cities, looking for food scraps, and were very vicious. Swine were unclean for the Jewish people, and they were not allowed by law to eat pork in any form.
We as Christians of 2016 and beyond need to realize that the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ is a holy message.
Sad to say, but there are people in this world who hate God, His Son Jesus, and any form of true holiness; they are the vicious ones to anything of God and holiness. They are the ones also who hate God’s people, and would rather see a dead Christian, than be confronted with their sin and rebellion against God.
We are given the great commission to go into the world with the gospel of Christ, but if they do not receive it, to shake the dust off our feet as we leave that home or city or province (Matthew 10:14; Mark 6:11)
For those let us live the life of Christ Jesus before them, be faithful to Him, and glorify His name. Who knows what might happen when we do.
