There are some who may ask, “Why would I, or why should I praise the LORD?” My answer to that is, “Why wouldn’t you want to?” I mean we are talking about the creator of the Universe and everything in it. He is righteous. He is holy. He is just; and if you want to challenge those things it is because you have yet to meet Him.
We Christians want to praise God because He is God, because of who He is, and because He alone is worthy of our praise.
David, the sweet Psalmist of Israel, spent much time in singing songs of praise, playing instruments while singing, and giving praise to God because He loved the LORD. What better reason than that. Hear David’s words I have chosen for today…
“I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.” Psalm 7:17 (KJB)
These words were written following accusations against David, that he was trying to kill King Saul, yet that was so false a charge. It was Saul who was trying to kill David, and David was doing everything he could to avoid the king.
Through it all; the journeys in the kingdom of Israel, with even the heathen kings around, David remained faithful to God, and praised Him for all He was doing and had done.
No matter what goes on in my life I will praise the LORD. Join with me in doing so. I have told the LORD, “What ever You allow to happen in my life I will praise You.” I said that several years ago. I still am saying that. He is worthy.
The only way to do that is to know His greatest gift to us all; and that is the death of Jesus Christ His Son on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection; also believing that He is returning some day to put an end to all evil, and rule on this earth. Praise Him, for He is worthy.
