It has been said by men, that people make god in their own image. To a certain extent that is true. If we form our view of god according to what we perceive as god, or use the view that every one else holds of god then that statement is true, and we will be worshiping false gods. However, if we take our view of God from the Bible, and what God Himself says of Himself, then we were made in His image, and will become like him.
My reading today was Isaiah 43 – 45 and I share these verses with you today…
“They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye Me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.” Isaiah 45:16-19 (KJB)
The makers of idols, gods in their own image, after their own imagination will go into confusion. The Psalmist wrote that “They that make them become like them” (Psalm 115:3-8; 135:15-18).
Because Israel [God’s people]; those who believe and trust God and His word; do put their trust in Him there will be no confusion, and there will be everlasting salvation.
God, the LORD, made all that is. He has not spoken His word in secret, a dark place of the earth so that we must search for the truth. He has given it clearly. That is especially so in His Son Jesus. The grace of God was put on full display for the world to see the suffering of His Son for the sins of the world. Jesus was buried carrying all of sin, shame, condemnation, and guilt away – leaving it in the depths of the sea, and as far as east is from west -never to be seen again, neither held against us. Then, He rose from that grave, and later ascended in to Heaven to have the seat at the Father’s right hand.
Believe and trust in the Maker and live eternally through Jesus Christ the Son of God who is God the Son.
