“And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.” Ezekiel 44:28 (KJB)
These latter chapters of Ezekiel’s prophecy are of a future temple in Israel. It is often referred to by today’s teachers of prophecy as the Millennial Temple. We must always remember as people of God in Christ Jesus that every word God has spoken has been done, is being done, or it will be done just as He has said.
The verse above is speaking of Levites who have been faithful to do the will of the LORD, the word of the LORD, and the way of the LORD. From the Levites came the priesthood.
As to why there are sacrifices during the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ I do not understand. I choose to believe it because God has spoken. I will leave the explanation and teaching of this temple to the more knowledgeable ones.
One thing I want we Christians to think about though. We are the priesthood; “a royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9). We should always be content with what God has put into our hands to care for and be good stewards of it. If God is our inheritance; then, that is the greatest inheritance.
Since we are a royal priesthood let us live as we should in His name and for His glory; always remembering to pray for and intercede for one another, the lost, and the wavering. Let us walk by faith, not by sight.
