“And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God He shall fight for you.” Deuteronomy 3:21-22 (KJB)

I often find times when I need a word of encouragement.  I imagine that is true of all of Adam kind.  The book of Deuteronomy is a book of telling us what has already been told, written by Moses, before He went to God on the mount, and did not return to the tribes.

It was the LORD [YHWH] who gave Joshua, and Israel the victories they had.  It was not Israel’s strong numbers.  It was not their military prowess.  It was not anything called “Luck”.  It was the LORD God who gave them the victory.

For the Christian today we can rest in these words too.  It is not the power of the preacher, the evangelist, or the pastor; it is the power of God that calls people out of the darkness of sin, guilt, shame, and condemnation to a walk in the light of Jesus Christ.

It is not men who build regenerated churches; it is God in His Son Christ Jesus who builds the Church.  Jesus said to Peter, “…and upon this rock I will build my Church…” (Matthew 16:18).

Let us all who are in Christ Jesus trust in Him to fight the enemy.  When we do that He wins, and we are victors for it.

For the LORD will fight for you.
