The Disciple Is Not Above The Master

“And ye shall be hated of all for My name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.  But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, ‘Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.’ The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
  Matthew 10:22-28  (KJB)

Pastor’s Prayer for today:

Father, Thank You for loving us.  Thank You for such bountiful grace and mercy which you have bestowed on us through Christ Jesus and His death, burial, and resurrection.  You are worthy of our worship, praise, honor, and glory.  We praise You O Lord.

Just as Jesus sent out His disciples into the area in which they lived and worked, so too, He has sent out His disciples today to be witnesses of His power and glory.  Help us, O Lord, to face each trial, each piece of our suffering with the knowledge and faith that Jesus also suffered, and that our suffering, persecution, trial, and sorrow is to honor and glorify Him.

Let us not fear what others may say about us, as our Lord, our Master never fainted by caring what others said of Him, or about Him in a derogatory fashion.  May we rejoice in the truth that every vile thing said will be exposed; nothing covered will be left uncovered.  Help us to be faithful in proclaiming the truths which are concealed to others that you may reveal the truth to them; enlighten them dear Lord.

The ones’ who hate us hate You.  The heart and mind of individual’s who sought to kill You, Jesus, seek to kill and destroy us as well.  We will not fear, as we yield our heart, soul, mind, and strength to You.

All praise be to You, O God, our Lord and Savior.  Amen.
