The prophecy of Haggai the prophet is taking place in the time they are trying to gather the needed materials for the rebuilding of the temple after some of the people have started returning to Jerusalem. The people have rebuilt homes, and have lined them with luxurious cedar ceilings (Haggai 1:4), and neglecting the house of the LORD.
The prophet reminds them of the promise of the LORD concerning His Kingdom and victory over sin, and the nations of the earth. Hear the words of the prophet:
“For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.” Haggai 2:6-7 (KJV)
These verses speak of the time when the judgments of God fall on the earth, and are mentioned in the Revelation of Jesus Christ in chapters 6 – 19.
Get ready. He is coming soon.
Repent of your sins. Call on the name of the Lord (Joel 2:32; Romans 10:13), and you can be with the Lord; not against Him.
