Now, before anyone goes ballistic on me concerning the title the word is a good word.  In this case it means to vindicate or punish, but justly get it done. From the prophet Zechariah we read a prophecy he is telling the people of the message of the other prophets without the text of it.

“And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: and oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.” Zechariah 7:8-10 (KJV)

The words he uses are from the older prophets, and some of it sounds much like Micah in chapter 6:6-8

We should never forget to treat others, our brothers, neighbors, the widows, the orphans, strangers, the poor as equal to ourselves; and give them aid and help as we are able to do so. Note also that we should not “Imagine evil against his brother”, that is, any one.  Sounds similar to our Lord’s words:

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” Matthew 5:21-22

Only the love of Jesus Christ in us can cause us to love like He has commanded us; and that comes through being born again of the Spirit and the word; through the cross of Jesus Christ.  Love Him.  Live for Him.  EXECUTE love, justice and mercy.
