It seems that there are many people who are for the keeping of the doors to worshipping
God open. They are open as long as people come to God God’s way; rather than our own way.
That was the problem in Malachi’s day; and this message is to his own people. They were offering polluted offerings (unclean), unfit offerings in their sacrifices; and God Himself calls for shutting the doors of the temple, because they are profaning His name.
Hear the words of the prophet:
“Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? Neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto My name, and a pure offering: for My name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 1:10-11 (KJV)
Speaking through Malachi God says to the people of Israel that there is coming a day when the whole earth will come in worship of Him who is worthy of the world’s worship.
We can know by history that these events have not yet happened. This is an event that will take place following the day of the LORD, and judgment on this earth has purified all that is unclean. The earth will have been made new. Jesus Christ will reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.
Every offering will be a pure offering. Every heart will be a heart that is right with God.
It is better that we be prepared for that day NOW, rather than later. Now, you can come to Jesus, trusting Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. Call on Him, turning from your sins; trusting Him with salvation for eternal life. He will save you.
For the present the door into the presence of God is open (Revelation 3:7-8) through the cross of Jesus Christ; but the day is approaching when that door will be shut. Do not wait
The name of the LORD will be “Great” in all the earth.
