No, we are not dealing with a mathematics problem. We are going to deal with the division that is still present concerning the matter of Jesus.

“Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the Scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? So there was a division among the people because of Him. And some of them would have taken Him; but no man laid hands on Him.” John 7:40-44

The above text is from the apostle John who, inspired by the Spirit of God wrote, and tells us of the division that was going on among the people of Judea.  Yes, the Christ; and that is Jesus would come of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem;  Jesus did so.  He was born in Bethlehem.

Many may ask the question:  Why is there still division about the identity of Jesus?  My answer to that is, that;  It is because many do not believe Jesus Christ Himself.

When Jesus was speaking to His disciples in Matthew 16, and asked them “Whom do men say that I the Son of Man am?”, and they gave their answers that He was Elijah, or other prophets returned from the dead; and He asked them point blank, “But whom say ye that I am?” and Peter answered, “Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living God”  Jesus spoke to Peter, and said, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, by My Father which is in heaven.”

When we believe what God says, we will hear and believe what Jesus says as well.  When people say to us, “I believe in Jesus” let us be sure of what Jesus they are speaking about.  The Jesus the Christian believes in is the Son of God, God the Son; the One who was born in a manger in Bethlehem, lived without sin, but became our sin on the cross, died, was buried, and rose again.  He is the Son of God, God the Son, and returning King; and there is no other Saviour of the world.  Any other Jesus is a fake.
