According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. Exodus 25:9 (KJV)
And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount. Exodus 25:40
Getting into the presence of GOD is a formidable task. When it comes to Adamkind, it is not only formidable it is impossible. God wants us to come into His presence therefore He has made a way.
The way is to be righteous, holy, just and without sin. I cannot do that. I was born a sinner completely separated from GOD, and no way in my human strength to reach Him. By the way… Neither can you.
The words of Scripture above from Exodus 25 are God’s word to Moses on the pattern He gives Moses are to be followed in the building of the tabernacle in the wilderness as they journey to the Promised Land. This is the pattern given by GOD from Heaven; the abiding place of God. There are seven pieces of furnishings given for the way of salvation. The ark of the covenant, the mercy seat, altar of incense, the lampstand (Menorah), the table of showbread, the laver for washing hands, and the brazen altar.
The ark of the covenant is inside the tent. The tent has no means of light entering. The ark is within a section of the tent separated from the table ad the light, as well as the altar of incense – which is just outside the veil in the Old Testament.
GOD has provided a way for Adamkind to reach Him. The daily duties of the priest of Israel was to perform sacrifices, daily washings, and on and on and on. The purpose of the daily ritual was to picture God’s eternal path to Himself; and that we are incapable of reaching Him by our own merit, in our own power, by our own works.
The ark of the covenant is the presence of God to Israel. The ark is a shadow, a type, a picture of the true Ark of the Covenant who is Christ Jesus. If you want in the presence of God you must come to Him by way of the cross of Jesus. That one sacrifice by God Himself is the only sacrifice that can give us eternal life with Him. Read the New Testament Hebrews 5-9.
There is no work that you or I can do to get into the presence of GOD. The work has been finished. Call on the name of Jesus and receive the gift of Eternal life.
