Reading Deuteronomy 30 – 32 today…
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJB)
Thinking of Deut 31:6 we as Christians are called also to be strong and of good courage, and not to fear, but to always trust the Lord our GOD. I always remind myself of three things when I am afraid, and fearful –
- Trust in God and do not fear (Psalm 56:3-4);
- When I am fearful and afraid I redirect my fear to God and fear nothing else (Proverbs 3:5-6); and
- I will remind myself of the phrase, “When you fear God you will fear nothing else”.
It is amazing what GOD can do when we redirect our fear and believe Him and His word.
There is much in the world today to fear. Fear from the enemy – the devil – is a killer, but that is fitting for a killer. Our enemy’s scheme and existence is to steal, to kill, and to destroy; and that is toward all who are God’s and follow His Son Jesus. By the word of God, His Spirit, and faith in Him we shall overcome the enemy’s attacks..
Let us be strong and full of courage of faith and trust solely in the work of Christ through Christ Jesus Himself. He will never forsake you.
